How we handle personal information when running our business and providing services.
Who we are
Nerrowen Web is a UK sole-trader business providing website design, development, hosting and maintenance services to businesses. We are the controller of personal information used to run our own business.
Information and sources
We may use names, work email addresses and telephone numbers, business names, roles and contact details, enquiries and correspondence, contract data, invoices and payment references, limited public business information for B2B prospecting, and strictly necessary technical and security data such as IP addresses and request logs. Information comes directly from individuals, their business or employer, public business websites and directories, official company-information sources and service providers where necessary.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use information to answer enquiries, prepare proposals and free previews, and deliver contracts, hosting, maintenance and support. Contract is our basis where necessary for an agreement with an individual or steps they request before it. Legitimate interests support responding to company representatives, administering business relationships, security, limited relevant B2B marketing and maintaining suppression records. We balance these interests against individuals’ rights and reasonable expectations. We rely on legal obligation for required accounting, tax and other records, and consent where it is actually required. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Business marketing
Limited targeted unsolicited email outreach is restricted to verified UK corporate subscribers where permitted. We do not automate cold email to sole traders or other individual subscribers. Where we obtain personal information indirectly, we provide this notice at first contact and within one month at the latest, unless a lawful exception applies. Every marketing message identifies us and provides an easy way to object. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing: email us or reply asking us to stop. We retain minimum suppression information to prevent re-contact.
Recipients and international transfers
Necessary recipients may include providers of email (currently Gmail), CRM, hosting and security, payments, banking, accounting and records, development tools and business software, and authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal information. Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use appropriate legal and provider safeguards, such as UK adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards. Client website information
The client normally acts as controller of information collected through their website. Where we act as processor, we process that information on documented instructions under the applicable processing agreement. Our own billing and business records remain under our control.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for its purpose. Ordinary non-responsive prospect records are normally reviewed within 12 months and deleted unless continued retention is justified. Minimum suppression records are kept longer where needed to honour objections. Client, contractual and accounting records are retained for applicable legal and tax periods; other enquiry and technical records are reviewed and removed when no longer needed.
Cookies and contact links
This website has no analytics integration, advertising pixels or non-essential tracking cookies. Necessary hosting and security services may process technical data to deliver and protect the site. Email buttons open your email application and do not submit a website form.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. The right to object to direct marketing is absolute. We respond to rights requests within the applicable legal timescale, normally one month, and may need proportionate information to verify identity.
